Privacy on Aurum Learn
Last updated 31 October 2026. Aurum Learn is run by Aurum Foundation Limited (ABN 39 680 160 570), a registered charity. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy covers Aurum Learn only. The Aurum Foundation website has its own privacy policy.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name and email address, and the way you sign in: by email, with Google or with a Microsoft account.
- Your learning. The courses you start and finish, your progress, your learning check answers, your reflections, the policies you read and acknowledge, and your records of completion.
- Your profile, if you add to it. A photo and the optional questions described below.
- Your organisation, if you join one. Which workspace you belong to, the training assigned to you and its due dates.
- Payments, if you buy. Your name, email address and the purchase. Stripe handles the card itself.
- Feedback you choose to send, such as a course rating or a comment.
- Workspace discussion posts, if you write them. Other members of your organisation’s workspace can read them, and its administrators can archive or remove them.
What your organisation sees
If you belong to an organisation on Aurum Learn, its administrators see your enrolment, your progress and your completions, and the policies you have acknowledged. They never see your reflections, your learning check answers or your answers to the optional questions.
Optional questions
You can choose to tell us about yourself on your profile, for example your age range or the languages you use at home. Answering is optional and you give your consent first. You can change or remove any answer at any time, and withdrawing consent deletes your answers. We use them only as totals, never with your name, to understand who Aurum Learn reaches and to report to our board and funders. We never report a total smaller than five.
Model policies
The model policies were written by Just Gold Digital Agency Pty Ltd, which delivers Aurum Learn with us. When you register to read them, we share your name, email address and organisation, if you give one, with Just Gold. Just Gold uses these details to see who is using its policies and to offer help with policy work. It will not add you to a mailing list without asking you first. We tell you this before you register.
How we use your information
To run your account and save your learning. To issue and check records of completion. To send the emails Aurum Learn sends: invitations, reminders about training that is due, reminders about live sessions you registered for, and reports to organisation administrators. To process payments and keep the financial records the law requires of a registered charity. To answer you when you contact us. We do not sell your information.
Cookies and analytics
Aurum Learn uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in, for up to 30 days or until you sign out. A visitor who is not signed in can keep a small cookie that remembers which free Charters they have acknowledged. Cloudflare analytics counts visits without cookies.
- Google Analytics uses cookies and page and event data to help us understand how the site is used. Forwarding your IP address to Google is turned off, and Google advertising personalisation is not enabled.
- Meta Pixel shares the pages you visit, your IP address and browser and cookie identifiers with Meta, to measure Aurum advertising and show relevant ads. We do not send the contents of sign up or enquiry forms.
Both are optional and stay off until you allow them. You can change your choice at any time with Privacy choices at the bottom of the page.
Where your information goes
Aurum Learn is used by people in many countries. It uses other companies to run some of its services. They are based in the United States and work in many countries, so your personal information may be stored or handled outside the country you live in, including in the United States and Australia.
- Cloudflare runs the Aurum Learn website and the database that holds your account, your progress, your records of completion and any optional profile answers you give.
- Microsoft handles sign in by email or with a Microsoft account, and sends the emails Aurum Learn sends you.
- Google handles sign in if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Stripe processes card payments. Aurum never sees or keeps your full card number.
- Adobe supplies the typeface used on Aurum Learn. When a page loads, your browser asks Adobe for the font, which shares your IP address with Adobe.
- Google Analytics counts how the site is used, only if you allow it in Privacy choices.
- Meta measures and shows Aurum advertising, only if you allow it in Privacy choices.
We use these providers only to run Aurum Learn, and take reasonable steps under the Australian Privacy Principles so that they handle your information properly.
